Knitting Classes


Latest classes: I will be teaching four knitting classes at the Mary Rose Museum in February and March. Above is the information about the beginners classes, and more information is coming very soon!


I currently offer the following group classes, but if you would like to enquire about individual knitting tuition, please do get in touch via my contact page(on IngridMurnane.com) and I’d be very happy to discuss it with you.

Beginners Knitting – Learn to cast on, cast-off and to make knit and purl stitches.

Beginners Wristwarmers – Project based class to learn basic knitting techniques whilst making some cosy wristwarmers.

Next Steps – reading a commercial knitting pattern and making some samples to practice increasing, decreasing and basic shaping.

Coffee Cosy Cuff – A project based class to learn increasing, how to make eyelets and attach buttons. Go home with a knitted cuff that doubles as a coffee cup cosy.

Simple Finishing Techniques – Specialised casting on and casting off, picking up stitches, picot edgings.

Knitting in the Round – A project based class, making a hat or cowl.

A Winter Wedding – A project based class to make knitted flowers for bridal bouquets, buttonholes and corsages.

Visual Lace knitting – Beginning lace knitting. How to follow a knitting chart, use lifelines, stitchmarkers and to read your knitting.

Prices

Each class is for 8-10 people.

£100/day plus travel costs.

I teach in Hampshire / West Sussex and the south of England.
